VAL/12/B Griffith's Revision pages for Charlotte Street, Ballymoney
The first point to note is the fact that the three houses numbered 10, 10a and 11 have been renumbered 39, 41 [William John's house] and 43 respectively. As far as I can ascertain, this renumbering was taking place in all of the streets in the town at this time. So this book matches with the c.1895 map whereas the previous book 3D matches with the c.1882 map. Note that the locations of houses Nos.39 & 41 can be seen on the VAL/12E c.1895 map of the street. This page shows the exit of William John Frizzell and his family to Union Street. The next tenant was a John McIlreavy who is listed in this house in the 1901 Census. He is replaced by a Robert McIlreavy in 1904, probably a relative. He is listed in this house in the 1911 Census. The date 1897 which is against the stroking out of William John's name simply signifies that he is no longer there. We know that he is listed in 1896 in Union Street and his daughter Beatrice was born there on the 26th June 1896. The next move will come c.1915 when his name appears in Church Street. The three houses 39, 41 and 43 are no longer standing in the street. They must have been located at the junction with the present Eastermeade Gardens - see the 41 Charlotte Street Google map. Here is a photo taken in 2012 which shows where I think No. 41 was located in the street.
